We visited my grandmother, who lives in Schladming, Styria (the ski-world-championship was there last year) last weekend. But we didn’t stay in the city (it’s more like a village for me) all day: We all longed for snow, as we had none in Salzburg since November. We hoped that the situation in the mountains would be different. At least there was some snow on the ground and on the peaks, but we expected more. Ahh, well, I shouldn’t complain. After all, we were able to take a long walk, with snow beneath our feet. We met quite a lot of cross-country skiers (the worldcup is there each year, too) and even some riders!
Hauser Kaibling and Planai on the other side of the valley. All those skiing slopes running down the mountain look really horrible – in winter it’s even more obvious.
