The summer holidays seem to be ages away already… Fashionschool dictates my life right now, and so I’m more than happy to remember the wonderful time I had in Grundlsee at the beginning of September: It was a perfect couple of days in my very favourite region. I can’t wait to go back next summer, or maybe already earlier – It’s really lovely in winter as well!
The highlight was definitely the hike up to the Lahngangsee. We went up from Gössel and wow, that was steep! And very exhausting… Three and a half hours just constantly up, with barely any level passages. But the nature up there is simply breathtaking and very diverse – from regular alpine woods to a lush meadow (with hundreds and thousands of blackberries – we ate a ton and double of that amount was still on the bushes – and so many still green!) to a scree field with low hanging clouds… And of course the lake! We very completely alone there, could hear nothing else but the wind and some occasional bird chirping. Being up there reminded me once again why I love the mountains: They just give you so much. It might be exhausting, it might be dangerous, but hiking is so calming and you let go of everything while concentrating on the track in front of you. I’m planning a couple of longer hikes for next summer and I’m already very excited.
